about

Born and raised in Wyoming. I enjoy going back and have many friends there. Several of whom I have met through the youth hockey organization that we created in Northern Colorado. The photo above is from a fishing trip in September of 2007 between Walden, Colorado and Saratoga, Wyoming.

For 5 or 6 years I had served in a volunteer position as the President of Mountain States Youth Hockey in Northern Colorado. Our teams are better known as the Mountain States Renegades. It has been a tremendous amount of work and sacrifice for all involved in bringing this organization from an idea to where it is today. I stepped down from the role of President in May of 2008. Now I spend my time at the rink as just another dad enjoying youth ice hockey.

We built this organization with a few principles in mind. First, it is all about the kids. Second, let the hockey coaches coach and run the on ice program, without parents or board members meddling. Third, if you volunteer or donate money to the organization, it will not get your child more playing time or on a specific team. Fourth, keep the board of directors small and make decisions that show consistency. Most importantly, always take the high road. This foundation has helped us avoid a lot of issues that are prevalent in youth sports.

With that being said, we have enjoyed quite a bit of success the last few years. Watch the Mountain States Renegades Promotional Clip.

I am very fortunate to be able to get out and enjoy places like the photo above. I look forward to every chance I have to wander around places that are less inhabited.
